Is My Rise Account Ready to Receive Payments?

This article is for Payees — people being paid through Rise by a company or client. If you're wondering whether your Rise account is fully set up and able to receive payments, there are a few things you can check yourself.

The Fastest Check: Can You See Your Lounge or Workspace?

If this is your first time creating a Rise account, simply being able to see your Lounge or Workspace is a strong sign that your account is good to go.

Here's why: having a Rise account, a profile, and a workspace means you've already passed identity verification and are KYC compliant — Rise accounts are only created for users who successfully complete this process. So if you're logged in and looking at your profile or workspace, the hardest part is already done.

Check Your Profile Status

For extra confirmation, go to My Profile in the app. You're looking for a "Verified" badge next to your name.

If you see Verified, your identity has been successfully confirmed on Rise.

The Three Things That Actually Determine Whether You Can Be Paid

Being verified and having a workspace means your Rise account itself is in good standing — but whether a specific payer can actually send you money depends on three things, all of which are on your side to confirm:

  1. You've accepted their invitation. Check your Action Items tab or the notification icon for any pending invitations you haven't responded to yet.

  2. You've signed any required documents. If a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) or similar document was generated as part of the invitation, you'll need to review and sign it before payments can be processed.

  3. Your profile is verified, as described above.

If you've done all three of these, your account is ready on your end.

What If You've Done All of This and Still Can't Be Paid?

Occasionally, a payer reports that a payee is showing as "non-payable" even after the payee has completed everything above. If this happens, the most common cause is on the payer's side, not yours — for example, they may not have signed their own part of the required agreement yet.

If you've confirmed:

  • ✅ Your profile shows Verified

  • ✅ You've accepted the invitation

  • ✅ You've signed all documents required from you

...and you're still told you can't be paid, this is worth raising with your payer first, since it's often something outstanding on their end. If that doesn't resolve it, contact Rise support, and we can look into the specific connection between your account and your payer.
