Who Can Send an Invitation?
Only Payers can send invitations — Rise does not send them on a company's behalf.
If you're expecting to be paid by a company or client, that company (acting as a Payer on Rise) is the one who initiates the invitation.
How Invitations Work
Your payer needs your email address. This is the only information required to send you an invitation — nothing else.
Your payer sends the invitation from their Rise account, assigning you a role (for example, Contractor) and connecting you to their team.
You'll receive the invitation two ways:
By email, sent to the address your payer used.
In your Rise account, if you already have one — see below for where to find it.
You choose to Accept or Deny. Accepting connects you to that payer's team; denying does not.
Where to Find an Invitation in Rise
If you already have a Rise account, pending invitations show up in two places:
On your Profile/Lounge screen, as an "Invites pending" badge with a number, next to My Profile.
Via the notification icon in the top navigation bar, which shows a numbered badge when you have a pending invitation.
Clicking either will open an Invitations panel showing who invited you, what role you've been assigned, and the team you'd be joining — with Accept and Deny buttons.
About Your Workspace
You'll notice that a workspace (for example, "Contractor Workspace") only appears on your Profile/Lounge screen after you've accepted an invitation. Before that point, you won't see a workspace tile at all — just your personal profile.
If you don't see a workspace and don't see any pending invitation notification, this almost always means one thing: you haven't received an invitation yet. There's no separate step to "unlock" or "request" a workspace — it's created automatically for you the moment you accept an invitation from a payer.
FAQs
I was told I'd be paid, but I don't see any invitation or workspace — what's wrong? Most likely, your payer hasn't sent the invitation yet. Since only Payers can send invitations, check with the company or client paying you to confirm they've sent it to your correct email address.
Can I have more than one invitation at a time? Yes — if multiple payers invite you, each will appear separately in your Invitations panel, and you can accept or deny each independently.
What happens if I deny an invitation? You won't be connected to that payer's team, and no workspace will be created for that relationship. If it was sent in error or you change your mind, ask your payer to resend it.
Do I need to already have a Rise account to receive an invitation? No. If you don't yet have an account, the invitation will arrive by email and guide you through creating one as part of accepting it.
Can I send an invitation to someone myself? Only if you're using Rise as a Payer. Payee accounts cannot send invitations — you can only receive and accept them.
