The New Rise: Your Step-by-Step Migration Guide (Payer Edition)

Welcome to the New Rise Platform! We have launched a completely redesigned experience to give your business access to better security, native payroll features, and advanced payment infrastructure.

Your data is entirely safe, your history is completely intact, and your funds are protected.

The core transition happens automatically in the background, meaning you do not need to migrate any data manually or re-enter your company details.

Here is exactly what you need to know about navigating the migration, what has changed, and how to manage your team moving forward.

1. What Carries Over Automatically

Everything listed below has already been upgraded and preserved—no manual configuration is required from your side:

  • Company Structure & Teams: Your existing structure is fully intact but organized more efficiently.

  • Manager Roles & Delegate Permissions: All administrative and payment permissions carry over exactly to their new equivalents.

  • Pending Invites: Any outstanding team or contractor invitations are preserved and carried over.

  • Identity Verification: If your business completed KYB (Know Your Business) verification on Rise Legacy, your status carries over.

  • Subscriptions & Fees: Your subscription type and any pending balances or fees transfer automatically. You will not be double-charged for subscriptions during the transition month.

2. Structural Upgrades: From Flat Lists to Organizations

The New Rise Platform introduces a structured hierarchy designed to give businesses clearer visibility and control. Instead of a flat list of disconnected companies, your structure now follows an Organization → Teams model.

How it looks now: If you managed a company called Acme Corp with a sub-unit called Acme EU on Rise Legacy, the New Rise Platform will display Acme Corp as your primary Organization, with a Default Team and an Acme EU team nested directly underneath it.

Upgraded Manager Roles

To support this new hierarchy, legacy manager roles have been mapped to precise equivalents to maintain strict internal controls:

Your Rise Legacy Role

Your New Rise Platform Role

Capabilities & Permissions

Delegate Manager

Team Admin

Full access to the team workspace. Can invite users, authorize payments, and update team settings.

Non-Delegate Manager

Team Payment Initiator

Can invite payees and create payment intents. Note: All actions require Team Admin approval before any funds are processed.

Note: Mixed roles are fully preserved. If you possessed different permission levels across different workspaces on the legacy platform, those carry over accurately to your respective new teams.

3. What is New for Businesses

The upgraded platform unlocks enterprise-grade financial features that were previously unavailable:

  • High Volume Payments: Execute mass payouts to your entire workforce simultaneously.

  • Native Payroll: Manage and run local or international payroll directly within the platform.

  • Smarter Payment Flows: Utilize the Team Payment Initiator role to delegate invoice creation while retaining ultimate payment authorization at the Team Admin level.

  • Time Entry Invoices: The legacy hourly payment model has been upgraded to a cleaner, more accurate time-tracking and invoicing workflow.

  • Multi-Currency Support: Move beyond USD-only limitations with extensive multi-currency account management.

  • Rise Earn: Put your idle funds to work. Move your USDC into a liquidity pool powered by Aave to earn 24/7 passive yield directly inside your existing payroll experience—no external DeFi workflows, bridging, or self-custody required.

4. Key Behavioral Changes Post-Upgrade

To ensure platform security and regulatory compliance, please note the following operational adjustments:

  • New Payee Invitations: All new contractor or team invitations must be issued exclusively through the New Rise Platform.

  • Default Settings: Anonymous invitations and Payee invoicing are disabled by default. Team Admins can easily re-enable these at any time via Organization Settings.

  • Post-Upgrade Deposits: Any deposits accidentally sent to your legacy account details after your migration date are automatically detected and safely redirected to your new platform balance.

5. Transition Period & Support

Rise Legacy remains completely accessible during this transition phase. You can switch back at any time by selecting the Rise Legacy option located on your left-hand side menu. However, all new product features, security enhancements, and performance updates will be deployed exclusively on the New Rise Platform.

If you encounter any structural display discrepancies or processing issues during your first login, please reach out to our support team for immediate assistance.
