Your profile, earnings history, funds, and wallet settings are completely secure. The upgrade happens automatically behind the scenes, so you don't have to worry about re-entering your financial information.
Here is a practical breakdown of what this upgrade means for you, how your login security works, and what to expect when you first sign in.
1. What Carries Over Automatically
Your account details have been securely transferred to the upgraded platform. No manual setup is needed for the following items:
Account Balance: Your legacy platform balance is automatically transferred and fully available.
Withdrawal Accounts: All of your linked bank accounts and crypto wallets carry over exactly as they were. You do not need to re-add your financial details.
Transaction History: Your complete historical ledger is visible under the dedicated Legacy tab in your Account History section.
Identity Verification (KYC): If you completed your identity verification on the legacy platform, your approved status carries over automatically.
2. What You Need to Do on First Login
Depending on your account's exact status at the time of migration, you may have a quick step to complete when you first log in:
If your KYC was already completed: No action is required. Simply log in and follow the brief onboarding walkthrough.
If you started but did not finish KYC: Your incomplete verification progress will not carry over. You will be required to start a new KYC identity verification process from the beginning on the New Rise Platform to unlock full features. .
If you used a connected Web3 Wallet or Rise Security Key (RSK): Your authorization method carries over perfectly. You will be given the option to add a modern Passkey for enhanced security (optional).
If you connected a Web3 Wallet but never actually used it: To keep the platform clean and secure, unused wallets do not carry over. The system will guide you to set up a mandatory Passkey instead.
If you never set up an RSK or Web3 Wallet: Setting up a Passkey is mandatory. It takes less than a minute and ensures your account remains secure.
3. Upgraded Features for Contractors & Payees
The New Rise Platform is built to make getting paid faster, simpler, and more flexible:
Multi-Currency Support: You are no longer restricted to USD. You can now receive and manage balances in multiple currencies.
Direct Deposits: Set up automated, recurring withdrawals to send your funds directly to your preferred bank account or wallet as soon as they hit your profile.
Time Entry Invoices: Say goodbye to clunky hourly tracking models. The new platform utilizes an optimized Time Entry Invoice workflow that is cleaner, clearer, and faster for clients to review and approve.
4. Understanding Passkeys & Security
The New Rise Platform uses Passkeys instead of traditional passwords for account logins, critical settings changes, and digital document signing. Passkeys are phishing-resistant, cryptographic credentials tied directly to your device (like Apple Touch ID/Face ID or Windows Hello). They are significantly more secure than passwords because they cannot be guessed, leaked, or intercepted.

Legacy RSK Recovery Process
If you migrate to the new platform and realize you have forgotten or misplaced your legacy Rise Security Key (RSK), you can easily recover it using our new security protocol:
1. Initiate Recovery: In-App Settings.
Navigate to your account Settings and select the Recover RSK option.
2. Establish New Security Layer:
Follow the prompt to create a new Passkey on your device. This Passkey will serve as your primary authentication and digital signing tool moving forward.
3. Internal Review: Rise Team Verification.
Once your new Passkey is created, the internal Rise team will verify the request and complete the RSK recovery on the backend.
Note: During this short window, your RSK will temporarily be unavailable for payment authorizations.
4. Access Restored: System Notification.
You will receive an automated notification as soon as the backend recovery is complete. Your account and payment capabilities will be fully operational.

How to Migrate Your Account from Rise Legacy to the New Rise
Before You Begin
Migration is by invitation only. You'll receive an email from Rise letting you know your account is eligible. You must use the link in that email to start the process — it's the only entry point to the New Rise onboarding flow.
Step 1: Activate Your Account
Once you click the link in your invitation email, you'll land on the New Rise Onboarding page.
To activate your account, you might need to register a passkey if you don't have your Rise Security Key
What to do:
On the onboarding screen, click Register Device
Follow your browser or device prompts to continue with account Activation.
Once registered, your account on the New Rise is officially active
Good to know: Your existing data from Rise Legacy transfers automatically
Step 2: Check Your Action Items
After your Account is set up, you'll arrive at your The New Rise dashboard. Before doing anything else:
Go to your Profile / Notifications and check for any pending tasks or documents that need your attention.
Complete any outstanding items to make sure your account is fully set up.
Step 3: Transfer Your Funds from V1 to V2
Your V1 balance doesn't move automatically — you need to initiate the transfer yourself. Here's how:
From your New dashboard, find and click the "Transfer Funds from Legacy" button (visible in the left-hand sidebar)
You'll be redirected to your Rise Legacy Account
In Rise Legacy, click the "Transfer funds to V2" button on the left side of the dashboard
Choose how much you'd like to transfer — you can move your full balance or just a portion
Confirm the transfer
The transfer is instant — your funds will appear in your New Rise account right away.
Not sure how much to transfer?
You can safely transfer your full V1 balance to V2 and make any withdrawals directly from there. V2 is the more up-to-date and secure environment for managing your funds.
