When setting up your Rise account to receive payments, selecting the correct account type is the most critical step. This decision determines how your account is verified and, most importantly, where you can withdraw your funds.
To make sure you can access your earnings without delay, please read the guidelines below.
Follow the Money
The simplest way to decide is to ask yourself: "Which bank account do I want to send this money to?" or "Which crypto wallet do I want to send this money to?"** if applicable
Choose INDIVIDUAL if you plan to withdraw funds to a Personal Bank Account (under your own name).
Choose BUSINESS if you plan to withdraw funds to a Business/Corporate Bank Account (under a registered company name, e.g., LLC, Corp). When choosing a Business account, ensure you have the necessary documents for verification, including proof of legal registration of your business.
Withdrawals from an Individual Rise account can only be made to a personal bank account or a crypto wallet registered under your own name.
Withdrawals from a Business Rise account must be made to a business bank account, and the account name must match the name on the Rise account.
⚠️ Critical: The name on your Rise account must match the beneficiary name on the bank account you withdraw to. You cannot withdraw from a Business Rise account to a Personal bank account, or vice versa. For Individual accounts, withdrawals can only be made to personal bank accounts or crypto wallets. Business accounts restrict withdrawals to accounts held in the name of the business entity.
Routing funds to third-party accounts, including sending funds to your personal account first and then to a business account, is not allowed.
Withdrawals to third-party accounts are strictly prohibited, ensuring compliance with Rise’s policies.
⚠️ Important: You Cannot Switch Later
Please choose carefully. Once an account is created, you cannot convert an Individual account to a Business account (or vice versa).
If you mistakenly sign up for the wrong type, you will be required to create a new account. Ensure you have all proper documentation ready for verification. Individual accounts require personal identification like SSN, while Business accounts need legal registration proof.
Follow these steps to create a Business account for business-related withdrawals:
Register for a new Business Rise account using a different email address.
Complete the verification process for the Business account.
Use the Business account for all business-related withdrawals and transactions.
Create a brand new account using a different email address.
Go through the verification process again.
