This article explains how to add a withdrawal method on Rise and how to pick the right one based on your balance currency and where you want to receive funds.
Step 1 — Go to Withdraw Options
Log in to your Rise account
Click Withdraw in the left sidebar
Open the Withdraw Options tab
In the External Accounts section, click Add (If it's your first account, you'll be redirected to add the account right away; no ADD button will appear).
Step 2 — Choose Your Withdrawal Method
You'll land on the External Accounts hub. On the left, you'll see a "Recommended for you" panel with options tailored to your active balance. On the right, a guided wizard helps you choose.
Option A — Use the Guided Wizard (recommended)
If you're unsure what to pick, use the "Not sure which to choose?" wizard on the right side of the screen. It will ask you one question:
How do you want to receive your withdrawal?
→ Bank Account — send money directly to your bank
→ Crypto Wallet — send funds to a blockchain wallet
→ Exchange Account — send funds to an exchange to trade or cash out
Once you select Bank Account, the system will ask you a few follow-up questions: your country, what currency you want to receive, and what currency you currently hold on Rise.
Based on your answers, it will automatically create the correct bank account card for you. No need to guess which bank type to pick.
Option B — Browse All Options Manually
Click "View all options →" to see all supported withdrawal methods. You can filter by Type (Fiat or Crypto) and by Asset (USD, EUR, USDC, USDT, etc.).
🏦 Bank Accounts: Which One to Pick
The right bank account depends on two things: the currency you hold on Rise and the currency you want to receive in your bank.
You hold on Rise | You want to receive | Use this option | Fee | Speed |
USD | USD to a US bank | US Domestic Bank Account | Free | Same day, or within 1 business day |
USD | Local currency to a local bank | Local Bank Account | $10 flat, plus a percentage fee shown at checkout | Depends on the destination country. |
USD | USD to a non-US bank (SWIFT) | International USD Bank Account | $25 flat | 1 to 4 business days, depending on the destination country |
Local currency (e.g. GBP) | Same local currency to a local bank | Domestic Bank Account | Free | Within 1 business day |
Non-USD currency (e.g. GBP) | A different currency (e.g. EUR) | Foreign Exchange Bank Account | No separate fee. The cost is included in the exchange rate shown at checkout. | Usually 1 business day |
💡 Most common scenario for non-US payees: If your Rise balance is in USD and you want to receive funds in your local currency, choose Local Bank Account. The currency conversion happens automatically.
Avoid Paying Conversion Costs Twice
Rise offers two ways to handle currency conversion. Use only one:
Path A: Convert inside Rise first. Use the Currency Conversion tool to convert your USD balance to local currency on Rise, then withdraw to a Domestic Bank Account. The rate you see at conversion already includes the cost.
Path B: Let the withdrawal do the conversion. Keep your balance in USD and withdraw to a Local Bank Account. The conversion happens automatically during the transfer.
🛑 Don’t combine both paths. If you convert on Rise and then withdraw to a Local Bank Account, you’ll pay conversion costs twice.
Crypto Wallets
If you prefer to receive funds in crypto, Rise supports these networks:
Network | Token | Fee | Speed |
Arbitrum | USDC | $1.00 flat | ⚡ Instant |
Ethereum | USDC | $2.50 flat, plus network gas | About 25 minutes |
Base, Optimism, Polygon or Avalanche | USDC | $2.50 flat, plus network gas | About 25 minutes |
USDT (LayerZero) | USDT | Protocol and messaging fee, shown at checkout | About 5 minutes |
Coinbase account | USDC | $1.00 on Arbitrum (default), instant. On other networks: $2.50 plus gas, about 25 minutes. | Depends on the network |
Network gas fees change hourly. Check the total shown at checkout before you confirm.
Coinbase withdrawals use the network of your Coinbase address.
⚠️ Always check that your wallet address supports the exact network you select. Sending to the wrong network can result in permanent loss of funds.
Important: Account Name Must Match
The bank account or crypto wallet you add must be in your own name, matching the verified name on your Rise profile. Shared or third-party accounts aren’t allowed and may result in account restrictions.
