Passkeys:
Passkeys are a newer, secure way to log in to apps and verify account ownership without using a traditional password. It uses biometric information (such as Face ID, your fingerprint, or device PIN) to confirm your identity.
It is typically stored on your device (phone, laptop, or tablet) or can be synced across devices through iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager.
Passkeys are more secure and more convenient than traditional passwords because they can't accidentally be given away, and you don't have to remember them.
Password Manager:
A password manager is an encrypted 'vault' that stores and autofills passwords for websites. You still use a standard username and password, but the vault remembers, stores, and enters them for you. You simply create one 'master password' that unlocks the vault and allows you to use it. Some password managers can store passkeys, and some cannot. Please check with your password manager of choice to confirm.
Rise V2 uses Passkeys for account access and to complete withdrawals. If you have a password manager, it may pop up while you're trying to log in to your account or complete a withdrawal. If your password manager supports passkeys, you may use it for your account verification. Please follow the steps provided by your specific password.
Below is an example of what to do if your password manager does not support passkeys, or you are using a passkey stored in your browser or device.
Here, I was prompted for my Passkey when making a withdrawal.
The password manager popped up in an attempt to auto-fill a password for me.
Simply close out of the password manager pop-up window and continue to use your passkey as directed.
Success! I was able to withdraw using my passkey.
