Overview
As a Payer or Account Admin, you have full control over whether contractors and employees can use an alias within your workspace. When anonymous onboarding is enabled, payees can interact under a pseudonym — only Rise sees their verified legal identity. When it is disabled, all team members must display their verified legal names.
How to Disable Anonymous Contractors
Log in to your Rise account and go to Settings.
Click on the Configs tab.
Select Platform.
Locate the "Allow Anonymous Team Members" toggle.
Turn the toggle OFF.
Once disabled, all users in your workspace will be required to display their verified legal names.
What Does This Mean for Compliance?
Regardless of whether this setting is on or off, Rise performs full KYC (Know Your Customer) verification on every user in the background. Disabling anonymity only affects what name is displayed to you and your team — it does not impact the compliance verification process.
Allow Anonymous Team Members: On vs. Off
ON: Payees can onboard and interact using an alias. The payer and team will only see this alias — the user's legal identity remains private to Rise.
OFF: All users must display their verified legal names within the workspace.
