Document Requirements

At Rise, we believe a smooth Know Your Customer (KYC) process is essential for a positive customer experience. To streamline your onboarding experience, we outlined the specific document requirements for KYC submission. This article will detail document validity criteria and any additional information you may need to provide to ensure a swift and efficient KYC process.

The ID documents must meet the following requirements:

  • The document must be valid.

  • The document must not be scratched, stained, or torn.

  • Your full name, date of birth, MRZ (Machine Readable Zone), and other important information must be present and readable.

  • All documents must belong to you. Third-party documents are not accepted.

Content requirements:

Identity documents must contain the following:

  • Owner's full name, date of birth, photo, and (if applicable) a signature.

  • Document number.

  • Validity data (issue date or validity period).

Photo requirements:

The identity document photo should meet the following requirements:

  • The document image must be a live photo of a physical document

  • If the document has data on the front and back sides, the photos of both sides should be uploaded.

  • The information in the document must be readable.

  • All corners of the document must be visible.

  • The uploaded photo must not have been edited with any software or converted to PDF.

  • Rise does not accept copies or scanned ID documents.

Supported languages:

Our KYC software supports most languages. However, for the following languages: Amharic, Bengali, Burmese, Dari, Dhivehi, Hindi, Khmer (Cambodian), Kinyarwanda, Lao, Mongolian, Nepali, and Sinhalese, the software only accepts documents in Latin characters. A notarized translation must be provided if a document with characters specific to these languages is submitted.
