How to Import Your MEW Wallet To MetaMask?
Updated over a week ago

MetaMask is a compatible wallet within Rise, allowing you to sign payments, funds, and withdrawals conveniently. If you already have a MEW (MyEtherWallet) wallet and wish to use MetaMask instead, you can easily do so by importing your MEW wallet. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you with the process:

Step 1: Install MetaMask

Ensure you have the MetaMask app installed on your phone or the browser extension installed on your computer. You can download MetaMask from their official website.

Step 2: Open MetaMask and Import Account

Open the MetaMask app or extension, and from the main screen, click on your profile icon. Then, select "Import Account" from the menu.

Step 3: Obtain the Private Key from MEW

To import your MEW account, you need the Private Key associated with it. Here's how to find it:

  1. Access MEW Website: Visit the MyEtherWallet website at www.myetherwallet.com.

  2. Click on "Access my wallet" and then select "Software."

  3. Choose "Mnemonic Phrase": Select "Mnemonic Phrase" and enter either the 12-word or 24-word phrase of your MEW account.

  4. Once you've accessed your wallet, you will see a colorful card on the upper left of your screen. Click on the down arrow next to "Portfolio Value" and then select "View paper wallet."

  5. Your private key will be displayed on this page. Copy the private key to your clipboard.

Step 4: Import MEW Wallet to MetaMask

Return to your MetaMask app or extension and paste the copied private key into the provided field. Click on "Import" to complete the process.

Congratulations! You have successfully imported your MEW wallet to MetaMask!

Now, you can connect your MetaMask wallet to your Rise account. If you need guidance on how to do this, you can find the instructions here.
