Understanding Crypto Wallet Verification

Verification isn't just about compliance — it's about speed and safety. Here's why verifying your crypto wallet helps prevent errors and enables faster, more reliable withdrawals.

Overview

After adding a crypto wallet as a withdrawal account, you may see it marked "Under review." This is a normal, expected step and it applies the same way whether you've added a bank account or a crypto wallet.

This verification exists to confirm that the wallet you've added genuinely belongs to you, so that funds are sent to the correct destination, quickly and securely.

Why Wallet Verification Matters

Verifying a crypto wallet before enabling withdrawals to it helps ensure:

  • The wallet belongs to you, the intended beneficiary — not someone else's address entered by mistake or by someone else.

  • Funds aren't sent to an invalid or incompatible wallet address. Unlike a bank transfer, a crypto transaction sent to the wrong or an incompatible address usually can't be reversed or recovered.

  • Compliance with anti-money-laundering (AML) and related regulatory requirements, the same standards that apply to bank withdrawals.

This is part of the same broader compliance framework that applies across all withdrawal methods on Rise — it's not a crypto-specific extra step, just crypto's version of the same underlying process.

What the Verification Process Involves

Wallet verification generally involves confirming:

  1. Wallet ownership — confirming the wallet address you've added is genuinely controlled by you.

  2. Beneficiary matching — ensuring the wallet is tied to your verified Rise identity, not a third party.

  3. Compliance checks — the same AML and regulatory screening applied to any withdrawal method.

How Long Does It Take?

Expected review time: 3–5 business days.

No action is needed on your part while this is in progress — your Rise account and your ability to sign in are completely unaffected. This review only applies to the specific wallet you've added.

If your wallet hasn't been approved by the end of that window, reach out to Rise Support so we can look into it.

You Can Still Add Other Withdrawal Methods in the Meantime

While a wallet is under review, you're not limited to waiting on just that one method. You can add and use other withdrawal methods — additional bank accounts or crypto wallets — at the same time, without affecting the review already in progress.

This means if you'd like access to withdrawals sooner, you don't need to wait for this specific wallet to finish verification before setting up another method.

Common Issues

Removing and re-adding your wallet resets the timeline. If you remove your wallet and add it again while it's still under review, the verification process starts over from the beginning. This isn't something Rise can override — once a wallet is added, its verification timeline is fixed to that specific submission.
