How to Withdraw Funds on New Rise

Learn how to set up a withdrawal method on Rise — bank account or crypto wallet — and understand which option is right for your currency and situation.

This article explains how to add a withdrawal method on Rise and how to pick the right one based on your balance currency and where you want to receive funds.

Step 1 — Go to Withdraw Options

  1. Log in to your Rise account

  2. Click Withdraw in the left sidebar

  3. Open the Withdraw Options tab

  4. In the External Accounts section, click Add (If it's your first account, you'll be redirected to add the account right away; no ADD button will appear).

Step 2 — Choose Your Withdrawal Method

You'll land on the External Accounts hub. On the left, you'll see a "Recommended for you" panel with options tailored to your active balance. On the right, a guided wizard helps you choose.

Option A — Use the Guided Wizard (recommended)

If you're unsure what to pick, use the "Not sure which to choose?" wizard on the right side of the screen. It will ask you one question:

How do you want to receive your withdrawal?

Bank Account — send money directly to your bank
Crypto Wallet — send funds to a blockchain wallet
Exchange Account — send funds to an exchange to trade or cash out

Once you select Bank Account, the system will ask you a few follow-up questions: your country, what currency you want to receive, and what currency you currently hold on Rise.

Based on your answers, it will automatically create the correct bank account card for you. No need to guess which bank type to pick.

Option B — Browse All Options Manually

Click "View all options →" to see all supported withdrawal methods. You can filter by Type (Fiat or Crypto) and by Asset (USD, EUR, USDC, USDT, etc.).

🏦 Bank Accounts — Which One to Pick

The right bank account type depends on two things: what currency you hold on Rise and what currency you want to receive in your bank.

💡 Most common scenario for non-US payees: If your Rise balance is in USD and you want to receive funds in your local currency — pick Local Bank Account. The FX conversion happens automatically.

⚠️ Avoid Double FX Fees

Rise offers two valid ways to handle currency conversion. Use only one — never both:

  • Path A — Convert inside Rise first: Use the Currency Conversion tool to convert your USD balance to local currency on Rise, then withdraw via a Domestic Bank Account (free, no FX fee at withdrawal).

  • Path B — Let the withdrawal do the conversion: Keep your balance in USD and withdraw via a Local Bank Account — the FX conversion happens automatically mid-transfer.

🛑 Do not combine both paths. If you convert your balance on Rise and then use a Local Bank Account, you'll be charged the FX fee twice.
