Why should you enable MFA?
MFA adds an extra layer of security beyond your password. Verifying your identity requires a second piece of evidence, making unauthorized access significantly harder. This second factor can take various forms:
Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP): a unique code generated by an app on your phone that changes every few seconds.
SMS verification: a code sent to your phone via text message.
Consider using MFA on all of your online accounts, not just your Rise account.
How to set up MFA for your Rise account.
First, navigate to the security section in your Profile. You can access your profile from the home page or by clicking on your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen.
Next, select Security from the left hand menu.
Once in the Security section, scroll down to the Multi Factor Authentication section and select Enable MFA.
Now you'll need to select and download an authenticator app onto your mobile device. Some popular MFA apps are Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Okta Verify, and many others. Select your favorite, open it on your device, and go through the account creation steps. Once your account is set up, follow the instructions in the app to set up a new account. Rise will generate a unique QR code for you to scan straight from your authenticator app, which will link the app to your Rise account.
Once you've linked your authenticator to your Rise account, you'll see the status change to Enabled.
Now, your account is protected by Multi-Factor Authentication, providing a strong layer of online security.
