1) First, open the emailed invitation from your client, and you’ll be taken to our new platform’s onboarding screen.
2) Now, select your account type. As a Payee, you want to receive payments, so select the second option that says "Receive payments."
(The send payments option is for businesses and requires business documentation.)
3) Once you've selected that you'll be receiving payments, you'll be asked to indicate your Registration type.
Individual accounts are for those who want to receive payments personally rather than through a business. To set one up, you’ll need to provide personal identification, proof of address, and any other necessary compliance documents.
Some people prefer to receive payments through a registered business in their name, like an LLC they’ve set up. Keep in mind that if you choose the Registered Business option, you’ll need to provide business documents to confirm ownership.
4) In this article, we will walk through the steps to set up an Individual account.
5) Once you've selected your registration type, read and agree to the User Agreements.
Once you’ve accepted the User Agreements, you’ll be asked to complete the identity verification process. This step is part of our compliance requirements and helps confirm that the details provided match the identity of the person opening the Rise account.
6) See below for the identity verification steps you'll be asked to complete.
⚠️ Important Note: A recovery email is a backup address you can use to regain access to your account if you lose access to the one you signed up with. Be sure to choose an email different from your main one, and make sure it hasn’t been used for any other Rise account.
Select from the following list of accepted government IDs. Please note that this list may vary based on the country your government ID is from.
You'll be prompted to capture a photo of your selected ID using your device camera.
Once the document is captured, the next step is to do a liveness check to confirm that you match the documents provided. This will also use your device's camera.
7) Once your identity has been verified, you'll be asked to set up your Passkey. This is a vital step to protect your account. For more information on Passkeys and how to set them up, view our Introduction to Passkeys on Rise | Rise Help Center article
8) The final step is to create your RiseID by selecting 'Create RiseID' below.
